Our History
1967
Founded as Dixie Metal Products by John Schnorr in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
1994
Relocated to Ocala, FL — establishing a long-term home and a new phase of growth.
2009
Refocused on two core markets: municipal plants and electric utilities.
2010–2024
Earned a reputation as the Southeast's Best-Equipped Metal Fabricator.
2025
Joined The Canopy Brands family, the best home for the world's mightiest small companies.
2026
Rebranded as Brick City Metals — investing in people, technology, and facilities.
Our Story
The Brick City Metals name is rooted in the history and resilience of our hometown, Ocala, Florida.
Ocala’s nickname, “Brick City,” was earned after a fire devastated the downtown area in 1883. In rebuilding, the city turned to brick and steel, materials chosen for their strength, durability and permanence.
That decision didn’t just rebuild Ocala, it redefined how the community would support itself for generations, with infrastructure designed to last.
Brick City Metals is more than a nod to our hometown. It reflects the professionalism and long-term thinking we bring to each project, as well as our role in building and maintaining the critical systems communities rely on every day.
